Business Instructor/Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center Director - Sidney Campus

Western Nebraska Community College is accepting applications for the position of Business Instructor/Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center Director, based out of our Sidney, Nebraska Campus.

This is a full-time faculty position with release time to work as the I & E Center Director. Primary responsibilities include:  instruction of business classes in a variety of modalities including face to face, online, hybrid and stacked.  The ideal candidate will be a content expert willing to become an active, involved team member who provides superior instruction and fosters student success.  Some evening or weekend scheduling; travel between campuses required.  Additionally this person will be responsible for the Sidney Campus I & E Center including the following:

  • Assume management responsibility for services and activities related to the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center including training programs, workshops and seminars; develop and implement strategies to attract the business community to the college.
  • Maintain an awareness of community needs in the southern tier and respond with programs to meet these needs; provide assistance to area groups in the development and planning of conferences and workshops.
  • Work cooperatively with various local, State and Federal agencies to ensure compliance and provide training programs that meet their needs; maintain contact with area chamber and economic development representatives.
  • Conduct a variety of organizational studies, investigations and operational studies; recommend modifications to business continuing education programs, policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Develop marketing strategies for programs; participate in the development of advertising activities for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center.
  • Negotiate contracts for training services for business, government and non-profit organization; negotiate contacts with outside consultants as required.
  • Assess instructional and resource material, supply and equipment needs for business and industry services; submit requisitions for the ordering of supplies; maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in a variety of boards and committees; attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of available Federal and State funds and of new trends and innovations in the field of entrepreneurship and business training programs.

Master’s degree in Business Administration and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, or the ability to obtain the MOS Certification by the first day of the Fall 2018 semester, required.
