Rita
Stinner is an Iowa native who earned both her Bachelor in Music Education
and Master of Music degrees from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
Rita is currently the Director of Choral Activities at Western Nebraska
Community College, and conductor of The Valley Voices. Under Rita Stinner's
direction, the Valley Voices performed Magnificat, composed and
conducted by John Rutter with combined choirs from Wyoming and Utah for
the Wyoming Choral Directors Association. They ahve performed with the
Omaha Symphony, under the direction of Helmutt Rilling at New York's famed
Carnegie Hall. Rita has performed as soloist with Eastern Wyoming Community
College, and with the Omaha, Powder River, and Wyoming Symphonies. In 1993
she tavelled to Goiania, Brazil with the Wyoming Partners Chorale, where
she participated in seminars and conducted master classes at the Universidade
de Brasilia, the Universidade Federal de Goias, Brazil, and at the Centro
Cultural de Professor Gustav Ritter.
Rita Stinner has served on advisory boards of Platte Valley Musical Arts, The West Nebraska Arts Center, Theatre West Summer Repertory, Scottsbluff Concert Association, Gering New Horizons, and the Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce. Musical affiliations include Musical Educators National Conference, American Choral Directors Association, National Association of Jazz Educators, and National Association of Teachers of Singing. Rita is past Secretary of Nebraska Choral Directors Association, and past State Chairperson for Standards and Repertoire in Nerbraska Community Choirs. |
