Adult Education and GED

The Adult Education and GED Programs at HATC provide the instruction to help individuals acquire the academic skills necessary for employment or for admission to college and occupational or training programs.

Get Ready!

Generally, if you are not currently enrolled in high school and have never graduated, you are eligible to take the GED tests.

Get Set!

WNCC offers adult education programs that can help you study for the GED Tests. Most libraries and lots of bookstores have GED study books -- and in some places there's a GED on TV series, too. Talk to an adult education counselor or a GED instructor at the Harms Advanced Technology Center -- they can help you decide whether you need to study for all of the tests, or just brush up your skills in a few areas.

Go!

Call (308) 635-6770 or (800) 348-4435 ext. 6770, and tell them you're interested in learning more about getting your GED Diploma.

If you are not in Nebraska, please contact your state GED administrator located with state government offices in your capital city. We can only help Nebraska residents.

Please call (800) 62-MYGED for information in your area or visit the GED website for more information on how you can obtain a GED as a Nebraska resident or states that border the Panhandle of Nebraska.

Anyone over the age of 16 who is not enrolled in another school is eligible to enroll in the program. There is no charge to participants. The program also offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for those who wish to learn or improve English language skills.

  • Improve basic academic or literacy skills
  • Achieve the General Educational Development High School Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Learn to speak, read, and write English as a second language
  • Improve job-seeking and life skills.
  • Prepare for citizenship or permanent residence status.

Instructors or tutors are available in Dawes, Sheridan, Morrill, Grant, and Scotts Bluff Counties.

Regularly scheduled classes in writing, reading, science, social studies and math are offered in the Harms Center south of the Scottsbluff campus to help individuals prepare for the GED exam.
