    Western Nebraska Community College today announced that it has received gifts totaling $100,000 from Simmons Olsen Law Firm and the families of its individual attorneys. The gift is in honor of Howard Olsen, who has served as the WNCC Foundation Board President for 27 years. As part of the WNCC Works: Expanding the Possibilities Campaign, the gift will support an endowed scholarship for special needs students, to be named the "Howard P. Olsen, Jr. Scholarship."   ...     Western Nebraska Community College today announced that it has received a $25,000 gift from Pepsi-Cola of Western Nebraska (Pepsi). As part of the WNCC Works: Expanding the Possibilities campaign, the gift will support workforce success, student success, and community enrichment on the three WNCC campuses in Alliance, Scottsbluff, and Sidney.   "WNCC is an integral part of the economic success of the panhandle, and we are pleased to be able to provide financial support towards their goals," said Justin Baum, Pepsi general manager. ...     The Financial Aid department at Western Nebraska Community College is hosting several "Financial Aid 101" student and parent nights throughout the panhandle in November to share important financial aid information and to answer any questions. Each event includes a financial aid presentation with information on FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) forms, scholarships, PELL grants, and student loans.     Western Nebraska Community College holds this year's PAWzitively PINK™ breast cancer awareness event during the volleyball match between No. 2 WNCC and Northeastern Junior College, Wednesday, October 26 at 7 p.m. in Cougar Palace. The Region IX South contest will decide the No. 1 seed for the Region IX South tournament in LaJunta, Colorado.     Western Nebraska Community College Vocal Music program, under the direction of Dr. Imgyu Kang, presents the Vocal Showcase Saturday, October 29 at the Midwest Theater in downtown Scottsbluff. The annual event features the talents of Collegiate Chorale, Varsity Vocalise, soloists, and small ensembles such as Quintessence, Just Bluffin', and the newly formed a capella group Zeitgeist.     Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) today announced that it has received a $50,000 gift from WESTCO. As part of the WNCC Works: Expanding the Possibilities campaign, the gift will support the New and Expanding Programs fund through the campaign. The initial focus of the fund is to create an Applied Agriculture certificate training program, which will benefit local agribusinesses and producers by providing a highly skilled and trained workforce....
