Fall GED and ESL Classes Announced

Western Nebraska Community College offers Adult Education/General Education Development (GED) classes throughout the panhandle this fall. English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are also available in Scotts Bluff County.

According to the GED Testing Service, in 1973, only 28% of jobs required a college degree or professional certificate. Today, 62% of jobs require a college degree or professional certificate, and by 2020, 75% of jobs will require a college degree or professional certificate.  

The classes are ongoing and free.  For GED classes, there is a $20.00 registration fee. Nebraska residents, ages 18 or older, who have officially withdrawn from high school, are eligible and encouraged to attend. DAWES COUNTY

Where: Dawes County Annex Building, Chadron, 250 Main, 2nd floor

When: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 -3:00 p.m.

GARDEN COUNTY 
Where:  Distance Learning Classroom at the Garden County High School, 200 West 4th Street , Oshkosh  
When:  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. through November 8.  Spring session dates are yet to be determined.

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. OR 
Wednesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. OR 
Monday through Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
