WNCC Foundation Receives Gift From Lockwood Foundation

June 28, 2012

SCOTTSBLUFF, NE - Today, the Western Nebraska Community College Foundation receives a $5,000.00 gift from the Lockwood Foundation for the Annual Campaign, which is used for student and institutional needs at all three WNCC campuses.

WNCC Foundation Director Dayle Wallien stated, "We are so appreciative for this gift that will help make quality higher education and training a reality for numerous WNCC students. We greatly appreciate the longstanding and generous support the Lockwood Foundation has provided to WNCC. As more than 80% of students exiting WNCC stay in the panhandle, this gift benefits all of our service area communities and is a great investment in western Nebraska."

Directed by Fred and Carol Lockwood, the Lockwood Foundation has been supporting western Nebraska projects since 1955 by Fred's father. The WNCC Foundation supports and promotes education and training opportunities at all three WNCC campuses, awarding approximately $350,000.00 in scholarships to WNCC students in FY 2010-2011.
