WNCC Hosts Free Family Night at Cougar Palace

Western Nebraska Community College is hosting a free "Family Night" at Cougar Palace Friday, December 11 beginning with the women's basketball team competing against the Nebraska All-Stars at 5:30 p.m., followed by the WNCC Cougar men's basketball team playing the North Platte Community College Knights at 7:30 p.m. Admission to both games is free for everyone.

The WNCC Cougar women's basketball team is 10-2 overall and 1-0 in the Region IX South Conference. The men's basketball team is 8-5 overall and 0-3 in south conference play while North Platte is 7-3 and 1-1 in the south division.

"We need western Nebraska to 'Rock the Palace' Friday night in support of these young, talented men, and to unnerve the Knights," says WNCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Russ Beck. "We love our Cougar fans and look forward to competing at home this weekend. We're absolutely thrilled to offer this Family Night as our gift to the community this holiday season."'

Fans may also dine with the Cougar Softball team Friday night by attending its All-You-Can-Eat Soup Supper, sponsored by the WNCC softball program. The soup supper begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Cougar Den, located in the main building on the Scottsbluff campus. The cost is $5 per person. 

On Saturday, the Cougar women's basketball team plays 12-0 McCook Community College at 1 p.m., followed by the Cougar men and the McCook Indians (10-1) at 3 p.m. Both Saturday games are south division contests.
