About the College Newspaper
The
Spectator is the college's student newspaper and is printed five times a
semester. The staff of the Spectator will learn how to put out a newspaper on
the latest equipment, including Adobe InDesign, which is the latest
desktop publishing programs newspapers are switching to. The Spectator also

Creative Suite CS2 includes Photoshop CS2, Illustrator, Acrobat and other
programs. Members of the staff will also learn about digital
photography and have a chance to intern at the local daily newspaper, The
Star-Herald, or the television station, KDUH-TV.
The Spectator members write stories dealing with campus news, investigative
pieces, features, columns, sports and
advertising copy, while bringing out the best of WNCC as far as community
journalism. The Spectator has won a number of national awards in the past. The
big thing about becoming a member of the Spectator is the reporter learns
about ethics and something called "community journalism."

family. The Spectator offers individual the opportunity to meet new people both
