ESL Summer Institute

This two-week program allows non-native speakers to sharpen their English skills in preparation for academic coursework. A basic vocabulary and understanding of English language structure is helpful but not necessary. Activities and techniques will focus on language production. Students will receive 2.5 hours of classroom instruction in the morning and 1.5 hours of tutoring and discussion group each evening. On the last Friday, students will visit nearby areas of interest. This is a non-credit course.

All students must provide sufficient funds to cover all expenses of the ESL program and their continued attendance at WNCC (if they wish to continue). Each student will provide a bank statement from their personal bank account (or their sponsor's bank account) showing sufficient funds for this purpose.

Students must show documentation upon arrival at WNCC that they have received an F-1 visa. Tourist (B-1) visas will not allow the student to attend classes at WNCC.

Students younger than 18 years old

Students who are under the age of 18 should have a guardian in the United States. In the event of personal emergency, accident, illness, etc., the signature of a guardian must be provided before assistance can be offered.

All balances are due upon arrival at WNCC.
