Schedule Changes

Dropping or Adding a Course

The official Drop/Add period allows the student to change his/her semester class schedule. Please check the college calendar for the dates each term.

Adding a Course

  • Students should consult their faculty advisor to determine which classes to add.
Online Add - log into the WNCC Portal and click on the registration area
  1. Select the section you would like to add
  2. Wait for your faculty advisor to process his/her approval
  3. Complete the registration before the drop/add period has ended
  4. Students cannot "waitlist" themselves for a course
  5. Copies of schedule/bills are available in MyWNCC Portal. Nelnet payment plans are automatically updated with changes.

You can also visit the online registration page for more information.

In-Person Add - Download and complete a Drop/Add Form
  1. Select the section you would like to add
  2. Fill in the section number on the form
  3. Take the form to your faculty advisor to obtain a signature
  4. Take the form to Student Services for processing
  5. Copies of schedule/bills are available in MyWNCC Portal. Nelnet payment plans are automatically updated with changes.
Remember: No registration is complete until it is processed through the college's computer system. Simply attending a class is not a method of official registration. Final grades will not be issued to anyone whose name does not appear on an official roster. It is ultimately the students responsibility to make sure that he or she is properly registered for a class.

Withdrawal from a Course

  • Students receiving financial aid should consult financial aid to determine the impact withdrawal might have on their award. They should also consult their faculty advisor to determine possible impact on program completion timelines.
In-Person Drop - Download and complete a Drop/Add Form
  1. Fill in all information on the form
  2. Identify the section you would like to drop
  3. Take the form to your instructor to obtain a signature, last date of attendance, and a grade
  4. Take the form to Student Services for processing
  5. Copies of schedule/bills are available in MyWNCC Portal. Nelnet payment plans are automatically updated with changes.
Online Student Drop Process - Download and complete a Drop/Add Form
  1. Fill in all information on the form
  2. Identify the section you would like to drop
  3. Send an email message to your instructor, indicating that you have the form and wish to drop the class. Ask the instructor to send an email message to the registrar's office verifying the drop. Please ask your instructor to include the last date you attended (not the date you dropped) and your grade in the email message.
  4. Fax the form, with your written signature to Student Services at (308) 635-6732 for processing
  5. Copies of schedule/bills are available in MyWNCC Portal. Nelnet payment plans are automatically updated with changes.
Please note: The form must be returned within published deadlines to be accepted. Dropped course(s) may affect student Financial Aid. Contact the Financial Aid Office for further information. Withdrawal from courses does not release student from financial liability.

Withdrawal from the College

A student withdrawing from the college must complete the official withdrawal forms, and meet with the counseling staff by the last date to withdraw as published in the academic calendar. This procedure, once completed, terminates current registration in all courses.

Students who fail to complete the withdrawal procedure will no longer be in good standing. To re-enter the college, once the withdrawal procedure has been followed, the student must apply for readmission through the college Admissions Office.

For dropped classes, the refund policy for tuition is based on the amount of time expended in each class. Fees are not refunded, except during the free drop/add period at the beginning of the semester. Please review the refund policy for more information.
