Online Learning and Services

Western Nebraska Community College uses Blackboard Learn 9.1 for the delivery of online, blended, and web-enabled courses. With Blackboard Learn, instructors provide course content, communicate with students, facilitate student learning activities and group work, create and manage individual and group assignments, deliver online quizzes and exams, and manage student grades. In addition, many instructors at WNCC employ the use of Wimba, a web conferencing system that allows for the delivery of lectures and presentations and for students to participate and interact with their instructors and classmates in a real-time online classroom.

Blackboard Learn is web-based and is accessed through an Internet browser, such as Mozilla Firefox. Faculty and students can access the system from anywhere they have access to the Internet. The Blackboard Learn environment is a password-protected environment; each instructor and student must use his or her WNCC username and password to access courses.
