Online Learning at WNCC - Getting Ready for Classes

Locate your WNCC username and password in MyWNCC. If you don't already know your WNCC username and password, visit the "Account Desk" link located on the top horizontal navigation bar of MyWNCC. This same username will be used for all online services at WNCC.
Please don't try to guess your username and password! We have many users and the most obvious choice may have already been assigned to another user.
2. Check your WNCC WebMail account for course information.
WNCC.net WebMail accounts are automatically created for students as soon as they enroll in online courses so that this communication can take place. Log in to your WNCC.net WebMail account by following the link in MyWNCC. Before classes begin, most instructors will have had a message automatically sent to your WNCC WebMail account.
3. Prepare your internet browser for class.
Students are often tempted to skip this step. Your browser settings need to be adjusted so that WebCT version 4.1 can function properly on your computer. You also want to be certain you are running anti-spyware and anti-virus protection on your computer. Please be sure that your computer is optimized before classes begin.
4. Plan to begin your class on the first day of classes.
Use the same username and password you used to get into your WNCC WebMail account. Go to MyWNCC and select the WebCT icon from the left side menu.
* If your username and password do not work when you try to access WebCT:
Check the date your course begins. The WebCT administrator populates courses with usernames and passwords during the week before classes begin. Try again later.
If you are able to log in to WebCT, but receive an "Access Denied" message , it means your instructor has not yet opened the class to student access. Try again on the day classes begin.
If your login and password do not work by the first day of your class, please contact webhelp@wncc.net or call Jackie Jacobsen, WNCC Technology Enhanced Education Director, at 308-635-6186 (toll free 800-348-4435) during regular business hours with the following information:
Class name, instructor name, your name, your login name (not your password) and when you last tried accessing the course. If you are getting an error message, it is helpful to include that information. (Please use your WNCC WebMail account for this purpose; otherwise your message may be filtered and missed.)
Please request assistance yourself , rather than asking a friend, relative or other WNCC employee to intervene on your behalf. Login assistance will be provided ONLY to the student enrolled in the class!
