Register Early to "Strut" Your Stuff at Annual Car Show

April 13, 2014

The Western Nebraska Community College Motorsports Club will host its eleventh annual car show and open house on Saturday, May 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Vehicle registration for those planning to show their car or motorcycle begins at 9:00 a.m. and costs $15. This price includes a lunch for two and a dash plaque. Attendance is free to the public and takes place in the parking lot of the Applied Technologies Building at the Scottsbluff WNCC campus, just north of the Main Building.

WNCC Automotive Body students such as Colby Schildt, pictured, make up the WNCC Motorsports Club and its events.Previous events have drawn up to 70 street rods, imports, street machines, motorcycles, and even bicycles. “If it has wheels, bring it down!” says Corey Batt, an auto body instructor for WNCC and a Motorsports Club organizer. “We’ll take it!” Along with the chance to view stunning vehicles, attendees will be treated to a lunch for only $4 and can participate in family games and other activities.

Prior events have had remote control car races with a track, paintball marksmanship (including firing at club members!) and “slow bicycle races” where participants attempt to come in last without their feet touching the ground. Auto show participants will also have the opportunity to win door prizes.

The WNCC Motorsports club consists of WNCC students from the automotive, automotive body, and welding programs. For more information, or to register for the event, contact Corey Batt at 308.635.6137 or Aaron Gayman at 308.635.6087.
